Ann: Mr. Cummings, did you want to talk to me or is it just my sorrow and, possibly self-importance, calling?
Elijah Cummings: No, Ann, you did indeed hear my voice. As I crossed over, as I have been preparing to do so these last several months, I have been seeking for ways to carry on the work of God our Father after I leave this world. You and others like you have access which I hope and pray will be expanding to many people in the coming times. I want to say to you that I regret nothing of my life and have so many people to thank for all that I have been given, many of them not necessarily the ones you might imagine. I have been privileged to love my enemies and to receive their love back in return. We saw, these ”enemies” and I, that we are the same under the skin and in the heart. All of us are children of God, all of us carry the spirit of our namesake, the Son of Man. I ask all of you now to unite in prayer, in grateful appreciation of all that we have received and to commit ourselves to making these gifts known to all whose lives touch ours however slight that contact may seem.
Ann, you and each one of us have a gift. It is more than you know. Offer these gifts up in humble thanks to the service of God and do not question their power. For myself, I will not rest though I am at peace and have received that peace over the many months of my illness and indeed throughout my lifetime. I send that peace and the love of Christ to all of you who remain and pray that we remain steady in carrying on the work of God our Father. I offer all the blessings I have received to each of you, and have come here to let you know that I and many others will still be at your side. God’s peace be with you. Elijah.
