John and Bobby Set Me Straight

I have been losing focus lately, and Anita* called to say that John McCain wanted to stop by to set me straight. As it happened, he came in as I was hearing from Bobby Kennedy, so they double teamed me.

Ann: Hi Bobby. And John?

John: That’s right, we’re forming quite the team - ok, an odd couple of sorts - but here, as I told Anita, to set you straight.

Ann: Bobby, you put up with this?

Bobby: Can’t do anything about it. He just floats in, claps a hand on my shoulder and, before you know it, we’re bosom buddies.

Ann: Really? You ok with that?

Bobby: Yeah, I kinda like the old guy, and he can hold his own in a fight.

Ann: Should be interesting. Are you coming here to have a fight?

John: Not at all, Annie, we’re here to set you straight.

Ann: Well, for that you will have to stand in line because there are a lot of folks lined up ahead of you.

John: Yeah, but they don’t have what we have, right Bobby?

Bobby: That would be correct. What we have is John's ability to push in wherever he wants to go.

John: Don't knock it, Bob, you're riding on my coat tails.

Ann: OK, OK, guys, go for it. Where am I crooked?

John: You don’t think you’re doing enough. Lot's of people feel that way, and those are the ones we don't have to worry about. The problem comes when you start making comparisons.

You look at all these high energy people, such as myself and my young friend here, and how we pushed ourselves every minute of every day and think that you should be like us. Well, you’re not. Can you imagine if everyone was running around with all that peripatetic energy? We would drive each other batshit.

Somebody’s got to take note. There have to be some people who sit down to take it all in and tell us what’s happening.

Bobby: And that would be you. Don’t think we don’t understand, because in every life sooner or later the time comes when motion is just not available and what is must be faced, accepted, and, yes, gloried in for all that it offers which could never have been seen in the midst of all that frenetic activity. There's as much challenge in this, maybe more, than in all the activity that is under review.

John: Annie, you have been given this life for a purpose, and you have been living that purpose. You have something to discover that everybody else, and what your two dead friends here (thanks for reminding me, Bob) can see, and that is, for acceptance of your own reality to percolate, you have to take the time to let your worries rise to the top like cream.

They don’t look like cream but they are, because there, in the full light of day, you will be able to separate the wheat from the chaff – and take it from me, it’s all chaff.

Bobby: Ann, I knew I was going to die. I knew they were coming for me, and I knew I could not stop it, and that knowledge was to some extent the source of my really inhuman energy – that, and the filling up of the huge hole left by my brother’s death. I was relieved when it happened, but that relief was illusory. The only difference between us now is location.

I did my review, my penance and reorientation in looking at who I was, what I did well, and what I could not be proud of. In the process I began to knit a new fabric to contain all those component parts but to also allow me to move forward without regret. Some of that review was done on the planet after my brother’s death, the rest I am still working on. Life, death, and the time after death are just different locations for the same process. You haven’t done anything wrong when you live the life you are given.

John: Couldn’t have said it better myself. You and many others who are naturally inclined to this work run at vibrations which allow you to process, taking in, taking in, and then allowing what has been hidden to flower, the good, the bad, the ugly. This takes time.

So take advantage of the down part of your energy cycles by allowing yourself to do as you are so inclined. You are not lazy, and you are not foregoing precious opportunities. The only opportunity you need to recognize is the life you have been granted now. There are no wasted opportunities.

And here’s the good news: we’re getting better. Even when we can’t see it, we are growing and getting better – and that includes you and every single one of your readers.

This was so what I needed to hear right now. That is often the way when I read your posts, Ann. Keep doing what you're doing. Please be easy with yourself.

Yes, Ann, you really put yourself out there for all of us to see and learn from. That takes courage. Your friends and teams from the other side support and reaffirm this. Thank you Ann, John and Bobby.

Ann. You are doing this work because you have already conquered the virtue of HUMILITY. You are so candid, honest, and true. We are all human and we all make mistakes. Remember, we learn by opposites! Thank you to you and your team!!
